Troubleshooting

The text you pasted isn’t a complete ticket. Copy it again and make sure you get all of it. A ticket starts with dawn1.

The ticket is fine, but the channel isn’t running. Try again later.

Update Dawn. If the panel doesn’t offer an update, choose Check for Updates… in the tray menu.

Stream stopped because no player was using it

Section titled “Stream stopped because no player was using it”

No player asked for video for about two minutes, so Dawn stopped the stream. Paste the ticket again and open it in your player once it’s Live.

Dawn couldn’t find VLC. Install VLC, or click Copy link and use another player.

Paste the ticket again. If it keeps happening, report it.

Dawn’s background engine couldn’t start

Section titled “Dawn’s background engine couldn’t start”

Quit Dawn and open it again. If that doesn’t help, report it and include engine-error.log from the data folder.

Dawn couldn’t reach the update server. It tries again later.

On Windows and Linux, start Dawn again from the Start menu or application menu, and the panel opens. On macOS, click the sun in the menu bar.

The stream isn’t ready yet. Wait for Live. Network full means you’re in line, and the stream starts when your turn comes.

Close the player, then click Open in VLC again. If that doesn’t help, click Stop and paste the ticket again.

If your connection is busy while you watch, try a lower upload limit.

Report problems in the Morningstreams Discord server. Tell us what you did, what you expected, and your system.

Dawn writes a diagnostic file each time a stream stops. Attach the newest one. Click Show diagnostic files at the bottom of the panel to open the folder. Dawn removes IP addresses from these files.

System Data folder Diagnostic files
