Install

Windows

Section titled “Windows”
  1. Download the Dawn installer.
  2. Open the file you downloaded. Follow the steps in the installer.

When the installer finishes, open Dawn from the Start menu.

macOS

Section titled “macOS”

Dawn needs Apple silicon. There is no build yet for Intel Macs.

  1. Open Terminal. You can find it with Spotlight (Cmd + Space).

  2. Paste this command and press Return:

    curl -fsSL https://dawn.morningstreams.com/download/install.sh | sh

  3. When macOS asks whether Dawn may find devices on your local network, click Allow. Dawn uses this to share the stream with other viewers on your network.

The command downloads Dawn, verifies the download, installs it in Applications and opens it.

Linux

Section titled “Linux”

Dawn runs on Ubuntu 22.04 or newer on 64-bit Intel or AMD processors.

  1. Open a terminal.

  2. Paste this command and press Enter:

    curl -fsSL https://dawn.morningstreams.com/download/install.sh | sh

The command downloads Dawn, verifies the download, installs it in your home folder and opens it.

To install the .deb package instead, download it and run:

sudo apt install ./dawn-linux-amd64.deb

Other Debian-based systems may work, but we haven’t tested them.
